There was a pub called Majuka Pub and it was owned by a woman named Mae. It was a lounge bar. In middle off sales bottle of whisky and caned food. Tough part of town. She was my mum's mum think the majuka was near heron street at dalmarnock road 2 well known pubs in the east end will be closing their doors in the new year Dominion Bar Dalmarnock Road will disappear for good as the entire building has been deemed unsafe and will be demolished asap. Straw House/ 5 Ways will close in January as the lease will run out and nobody wants it

Hi caltondefender, I am really sorry to hear this, I liked wee causey, went to school wi him (Bernard St.) I worked in Jimmy Frears, bunching sticks, we had quite a good few laughs over the years. I also believe he was mostly responsible for the name torch taken from a Bob Hope film at the time. If you see Howdy would you mind telling I was asking, hope he is doing ok. If you are going to have a reunion, any chance letting me know? I remember Andy Bain, Geordie Cooper, Rab Connell George Hart (Harty) wee Shabb, its hard to remember that far back, if we ever get to meet I'll buy the beers!!!!! Can you tell me how he died. All the best andythomson. p.s. check out Friends reunited Bernard St. School page. cheers. sorry Andy for not getting in touch sooner was with Andy Bain last week he was up from Nottingham Andy is the only brother left out of 3, young Shab is living in Nottingham his older brother Wullie passed away a few months back, Kelso moved back up here from Corby, few of us where at Paddy Kelly 60th in September, causey was to young to call the gang{torch}think it named in the late 50s causey passed away due to the demon drink Andy I will certainly keep you posted when we have another reunion in 2015

Hi thecaltondefender, I hope you dont mind me writing to you or anyone else who might help. You say in your above post causey has passed away in 2002, is this the same causey that lived in Stamford Street the first close past the bottom half of Dalserf Street, top flat? I last heard of him in the 70's living in Easterhouse, married with two kids. I would appreciate any information, if you are not sure who I am ask John Howarth (Howdy) I introduced him into the torch. All the best and thank you very much. Andy am sorry to say that's the same causey myself (Kinnie} Rab Watt Gerry Doyle {now in London} are in touch with most of all the old gang from Camlachie some are in London Manchester Nottingham I see howdy all the time his son in law is the manager of Patrick Thistle

I have been working on a Clanny site all day on my Facebook Page. Here is a clip from it... www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0NT6aUwN8c&feature=player_embedded#! Who remembers the day of the England v Scotland International at Wembley in 1996 which was surely one of the best days in living memory in the auld Clanny when we took on the Braveheart look for the day. When Gazza scored that wonder goal I didn't know whether to cheer or feckin' greet especially as he shagged two Rangers players when he scored it , Colin Hendry and Andy Goram. A brilliant day nevertheless for all of us who attended... ;D [/URL
I was glad it was gazza who did the damage against the tartan tumshees.ps I got his jersey from the game of another bear who played in the humping

Who remembers this commentary... Nacho Novo, with one kick of the ball to take Rangers to Manchester. The ball isn't sat on the spot. Manchester brace yourself AND RANGERS ARE COMING! SCOTLAND WILL HAVE IT'S BIG NIGHT AS WELL!! The Scots are heading for Manchester, and you know what, Manchester may not be big enough. They won't need visa's, they won't need passports, but the battle for tickets starts now. Brace yourself Manchester, they are on their way! That's all Oh what a night in Italy ;D ;D ;D

They told us we were finished, they said won"t survive, but one year down the line the Glasgow Rangers thrive...... The haters tried to kill us,they still cant let it lie,the club they love to hate so much will never ever die, for Rangers are a family so much that we can say, that even we hit our lows we never walk away.. so listen all you haters, the traitors and the scum, our history remains intact Glasgow Rangers number one..

. charlie/s.hills never a truer word said in the last 2 posts, thats just how i have felt about the other spl club,s 2 of them maybe 3 & 1from the 1st div will be down to join us in the lower divisioons so the next 3 titles will be tainted, the way the bears have backed rangers f.c. this season will show exactly why W.A.T.P.
