Well that is the first day over and done with and it was hectic to say the least. I suppose one or two teething problems were going to happen but we survive the crisis and are looking forward to settling in in our new home. I feel as if I have went the full circle as my great grandmother moved to nearby Barrowfield Street in the 1890's soon after my great grandfather died in 1888 and she raised her two sons there with great hardship and struggle. My other great grandparents lived in Frazer Street and I was brought up on the London Road facing 'the Brickfield' as the old Mile-Enders used to call the housing scheme. And of course in nearby Mountainblue Street was the original ground of Bridgeton Waverley Football Club with which I have many connections with from the days they were formed and until they went defunct both as a Junior side and latterly an Amateur side. I am already feeling a wee history Project coming on with the 'auld yins' and I have only been there a day.
