There was a nice little photie in today's Herald which showed the laboratory building of the Forge, right at the junction of Duke Street and Shettleston Road, which of course has been demolished. It stood next to the Labour Exchange, which now serves as a worship centre. So I did see a white cross on the chimney then, who are using it as a place of worship then Peter. ?? cu oorwullie

I noticed today that another piece of Parkhead's industrial past has disappeared. The Springfield Wire Works, premises of Begg, Cousland & Co. have been demolished. Think they were just demolished before the Gerdin Party pwm. cu oorwullie

Delburn Street backs looking into Janey...when I was a kid the midden in this backcourt always had 'luckies' in it for some crazy reason. © 2009 The Glesga Keelies Collection. Just maybe some people who bought good things to put in the midden, so that the neighbors would think their better off. cu oorwullie

hello oorwullie did you know a guy called neil riddle who lived in one of they closes up from you on springy rd. I think he must have been two closes further up near the lights, think one close further than Walter Mc Fadyen same close as Tommy Hunter, and I think their was a lassie there if I remember right Sandra Morrisen. Could be she moved in after Riddle moved out. cu oorwullie

Hi caterina My surname is Mutter, yes Mrs Mc Tavish lived down stairs from us, I remember runnin up the stairs tae get ma maw as she started bleedin like hell through the nose, turned out to be a hemarage, and I think a short while after that she died. In the close next to me thier was Walter Mc Fadyen, and a bit further up there was Tommy Hunter. Me and Tommy sometimes went on our bikes all the way to Denny south of Stirling visited mae sister then all the way back. cu oorwullie

Springbank House must be before my time, only thing I remember before the Helenvale flats got built, when I came out of the Church after the BB`s when we walked down to London Road there was a wall there, I allways thought there was a Factory behind it. cu oorwullie

I wiz a member of the 67th during the late 60's early 70's, came up through the shipmates, then the lifeboys, then into the BB. Can't say I recognise any of the boys, but the guy 2nd from the right in the suit, was a Mr Bill Gray, who was there when I was a member. Some of the guys who I can rememeber who were there were Iain Palmer and his big brother Tommy, George and Tommy McCann, Eddie Gilmour ( who introduced me to Deep Purple... bless him) and his big brother. Johnny and Davey Johnstone, Walter (Zeno) McFadzean. Ian Kiggins There was also a guy called Bryce Wilson??.... who was always a good laugh. Ah OK yae plonker (no offense intended) ;D I canae remember you niether ;D ;D Naw seriously I think I do remember the name Mc killigan, and before Tam starts You aswell. ;D cu oorwullie

Was there at the beginning of April this year, and was looking for the Grave of my Father Henry Mutter, should have been on the Hallhill road side, but now I think it was more down near the new houses, As I was there I was looking more in the direction of Glasgow and there are a lot of graves from the first world war
