Charlie, in what year was the club founded ?
Was Ex-President Thomas Toughill the same man who wrote the book on Oscar Slater do you know ?

I believe it was his son...who was a policeman and personal bodyguard to many famous people. He is actually a distant relative of mine on my Maw's side.

Charlie, do you know if the 1907 champion was the club's first ? Not quite sure Peter as Belvidere was the original Parkhead Bowling and therefore changed its name from Parkhead when it moved to Silverdale Street aka Steven Parade...I will try and find out for you.

charlie I know this is a long shot and probably wide of the mark but here goes anyway on theclub board 1975 r. marshall there was an r. marshall at rivvie he would have been 25 in 1975? ?? could you find out for me, I think im clutching at straws here. Hi Patrick was that Ronnie Marshall?

hi charlie theres an andy macfie who is a member of your bowling club he will be around 70ish who lived on finhaven st where I was born, do you know him? I know Andy McPhee well stayed next door to Neil

I was told he still stayed in finhaven st pg. I remember you said you knew ronny marshall do you have any contact with him at all??? Andy still lives in Finhaven street patrick. I havent seen Ronnie Marshall for years, I dont even know where he lives now.

Archive : from 150 years ago today
'Belvidere Bowling Club - On Friday afternoon this club opened their new green in Parkhead under very favourable auspices. There were five fully manned and the opening proved a great success. After the games had been played out, the party held a soiree in the Barony Sessional School, Carntyne Road, when addresses were delivered on subjects connected with the meeting. Mr John Reid filled the chair and the secretary, Mr Alex Leek, gave a resume of the progress of the club since its formation. The evening was spent with the greatest hilarity an unanimity.'
The above would indicate that the bowling club opened around 1861.
