I think they should bring back the trolley buses personally Aah think they shuda niver goat shot o the caurs!! A lot o places urr putting the lines back in and buying new trams, which urr quieter, mair efficient, and heaps cheaper & greener than buses. When aah wiz back in Glesga, it wiz the furst thing aah noticed - nae trams!! The 64 bus wiz niver a proper "replacement" fer the No9 Tram caur. Scotty huz spoken ;D

Ma wee Maw Cullen had a wee dug named Rusty. it used to get on the No 9 tram at 4 oclock and get off at partick at my grandads work it would sit and wait for him then get the bus back with him every day. I remember when i was about 5 and my wee maw bought me a tea set for my birthday i was so pleased i offered to carry her bag, when we got off the no 9 tram i had my tea set but left her bag on the tram. we got off at Davvar Street at Celtic park we crossed over and waited for the tram coming back for Auchenshuggle and the bag was still on the seat. try that now. memories of the No. 9. Joyce Ingram.

I have seen a couple of short films on the last tram ride (No .9) in 1962 (both in colour) but I have not seen this one which is in Black and white. Note London rd at Bridgeton cross at the 5.12- 5.20 sec mark, and also London rd at Auchenshuggle around the 5.33 - 5.50 sec mark. There is some great footage of Glasgow toon, the whole film lasts about 9 mins. Enjoy Paul. Here is the link : www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&hl=uk&v=kO2DmTnXlDA

I have a copy of the film Paul. My Maw who worked out of Ruby Street at the time is still annoyed that she never knew about the party at the end.

Travelled on the No. 9 from London Road to Brigton to my granny's house every Saturday morning to get her messages. Done that from age 10 till 13 then I got a Saturday morning job in Helenslea Dairy. Loved the trams.

Looking at the photo it seems to say Russell of Bathgate on the building...whatever they were I haven't a clue but I do remember some sort of fleet of trucks always being parked up in and around the building.
