My gran died in 2001, aged 88. My mum and I came home for her funeral. She was cremated at Daldowie, as was my granda 18 years before. Both of their ashes are scattered in the Garden of Peace.

Both my parents were cremated here.
I always think it is such a serene and dignified place. The Parks Dept. do a good job.

Both my parents were also cremated in Daldowie.Crematorium. My Dad in 1973 and my Mum in 1998. Another worth a mention is Linn Crematorium in Castlemilk. It is also a very beautiful place (if you can call a crematorium a beautiful place) with one of the best views over Glasgow on a good day. The view gave me the will to carry on after the cremation of a dearly loved one. This was in 2000.

Hi weanie, I agree with what you say about Linn Cremetorium.
I have been to Daldowie and Linn, on many occasions, and have personally found the Linn a more comforting place. Both my Parents and Rons Parents were cremated there.

My dad was cremated in Daldowie in january 2003, personally I would have prefered burial but this was his wishes.
Sadly I have been there quite a few times.

I have been there more times than I would care to be some like my Mum , Gran , Grandad, My nephew Pte Thomas Haggerty KIA Gulf 1991, Also a lot of friends recently . It is what I would count as one of the best next to Clydebank Crematorium for a nice view.

Dan I know where you are coming fae Dan as I just get melancholy everytime I go there...my granny , my granda , my aunties and uncles and I was at young Thomas's funeral and I always think about him whenever I hear the Flower Of The Forest on the bagpipes whenever I am over in France and Flanders.
