I do not allow direct links to commercial web-sites i.e Amazon , e-Bay which advertise books unless it is approved by me first of all. There is no problem with you reviewing a book and giving your opinion but please stay within the copyright regulations. you don't need permission from the copyright holder if your copies are for private study, research or for a non-commercial purpose stay within the agreed safe copying limits, unless you have been given permission to copy more. These are: one article from any one issue of a journal or periodical or 5%/one chapter from a published work only make single copies, unless you are authorised under a copying licence to make multiple copies digital copies must not be placed on a network always acknowledge all your copies, unless impracticable Any breach of copyright is considered a legal offence and can result in the board being shut down if there are continual infringements of copyright laws.

Sincere apolgies. I had no intention of infringing any rules.
I thought because the book related to the East End and was written by an East Ender it would be alright to link to the image.
I got this book as a Xmas pressie from the grand weans and recommend it to members.

No need to apologise Sanny it is just that I have a lot of issues at the moment with copyright as we try to develop a new format for the Glesga Keelies board. I know Gordon the author of the book which I have and think it is an excellent production with some really good photos in it. By all means print your review but no direct links pleae to any commercial sites such as Amazon...we will be having a committee meeting within the next couple of weeks and hopefully this issue will be resolved. Pssttt...do you want to buy some durty postcards.

I am in the middle of a book called "Night Song of the Last Tram" by Robert Douglas, its about a young boy brought up in a single end in Maryhill. Not the best book I have read but the craic in it is great. Lots of things in it I can relate to (being brought up in a single end until I was 7) It tells of his journeys on the tram throughout Glasgow. I especially like his mammy's patter as it is so typical of the Glesga wummin.
