...I cannot remember the name of this church on the corner of Landressy Street and James Street but I know I have a brief history somewhere in the house.

I think it was built in 1926 as the Wesleyan Methodist Mission, and later became known as the Central Halls. The postal address was 131 to 139 James Street

This is a picture of the magnificent central hall, which is to be erected in Bridgeton for the Methodist in place of the Greenhead Halls at Landressy street.taken from the plans of the architect Mr Andrew Wilson,156 George street Glasgow. It is largely as a result of the faith and energy of Mr Alexander Anderson that tha hall is to become an actual fact and of course the munificent gift of Mr Joseph Rank made the whole scheme possible , The Rev, A Stanley Parker, minister of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Bridgeton and his band of workers are making an appeal for monetary help that they may be able to open the church free of debt
