I acquired this amongst the personal papers of a Great War soldiers papers and medals I recently bought on e-Bay...I think we should all sign up for the pledge myself included. ;D

Back to the days when we were more refined and not so foul mouthed, how times have changed.

I don't have a problem with it if it is used in the right context but some people do go over the score and utter profanities at every second word...for the benefit of these boards I'd appreciate it if you have to swear could you restrict it to simulated swearing as in 'feck' for the 'f' word and 'basra'' for the 'b' word. The use of the 'c' word is not acceptable in any form. I remember reading an article several years back that the first recorded use of the 'f' word was recorded in the minutes and records of the Scots Court of King James V albeit it has it's origins in the Germanic word meaning to strike or hit...and on reflection I have had my fair share of 'hits' in my time usually on the back of ma heid or oan ma big baw-face. ;D Seriously folks I would rather we limited the use of even simulated swear words as a mark of respect towards our older Glesga Keelie readers and members.

May I remind all posters that although simulated swearing is allowed but should be restricted in use...weans , wummen and men of the cloth peruse these boards at their leisure and may be offended by such profanities. I myself find it embarrassing especially as my Father was an Arch Bishop. Sorry Waverley you got it wrang yer faither was auld Archie Bishop fae doon in Dalmarnock who sold briquettes aff a cuddy an cairt.
