only one bit of advice for you lot, Take Pieces, you'll need them.
I was on a "wee" trip to Spain a few years back, flew out the morning of the game, and decided to take my own lunch, just as well, they just cant cope with the numbers. Met dozens of people who couldn't get a bite all day. Beer yes, but no food.

I've got a ticket ya beauty. I always swore I'd go and see Rangers in their next Euro final after being at Barcelona in 1972. But I honestly never thought I'd see another one in my lifetime - so ABSOLUTELY delighted to be going to Manchester!!!
C'mon the GERS ;D ;D

Well, as the convoys leave Scotland headed for Manchester, good luck to Rangers.
I recall watching them play Inverness Caley in December 2006, and it worst performance by a Rangers team I can remember. Yet here we are eighteen months later and a European Final. Incredible progress by Walter Smith since his return to the Ibrox hot seat.
Irrespective of results between now and the end of the season for Rangers in a fortnight or so, it has been a remarkable season. They have taken the title chase to the wire, reached Manchester, will play in the Scottish Cup Final, and have already secured the League Cup.
I would not have believed that possible, even at the start of this season. All credit to the players and management team.
Hope all the fans behave and enjoy themselves, and do Scottish football and RFC proud.

Good luck to Rangers for tomorrow night even though I'm a Celtic supporter. I always support any team representing Scotland. Bring the cup back to Glasgow boys.

I was heading out to my work at Wishaw this morning around 6.00. The M74 was a convoy of red, white & blue, all heading to Manchester on a glorious morning, whilst some of us will be stuck in the office.!

It is all coming out now...I wonder if we will be given an apology from UEFA , Manchester Police , Manchester City Council and the feckin Scots media...the basturds. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/1182500_police_boss_council_caused_rangers_riot_by_turning_off_big_screenPolice boss: Council caused Rangers riot by turning off big screen Exclusive by John Scheerhout November 14, 2009 A SENIOR police figure has blamed Manchester council for the Uefa Cup final riot. Chris Burrows, chairman of the Greater Manchester Police Federation, which represents rank-and-file bobbies, said the big screen showing the match in Piccadilly Gardens was deliberately switched off. Drunken fans went on the rampage before and after the game between Zenit St Petersburg and Rangers in May 2008. Town hall officials have consistently said the screen failed, prompting a night of serious rioting. A council report blamed drunken fans for thwarting efforts to overcome a weak signal to the screen, with contractors ordered to abandon the site and run. Following the latest claims, the councl again issued a strong denial and GMP Chief Constable Peter Fahy said no blame could be apportioned to any organisation. Mr Burrows made his comments at the Federation's annual open meeting in the V&A hotel in Manchester. It included a question-and-answer session with Chief Constable Peter Fahy, Coun Paul Murphy, Mr Burrows and other Federation officials who were also on the panel. Asked by one officer who had been to blame for the Uefa cup 'fiasco', Mr Burrows said: "It was the local authority. I was listening to the (police radio that night. That screen was switched off." No-one on the panel rebutted Mr Burrows' comments. After the meeting, Coun Jim Battle, deputy leader of the council, said: "The claim that the screen was switched off by the council is entirely unfounded. The screen broke down and as the technicians tried to fix it they were pelted with bottles. Nothing excuses the mindless violence that followed. "Never have we experienced the widespread rioting and hooliganism we saw in the city that night. police officers, council staff and others showed admirable courage and carried out a splendid job under extremely difficult circumstances." Mr Fahy later said: "A council investigation revealed the signal failure was responsible for the screen not working. No blame can be apportioned to any organisation. The disorder was a consequence of individuals taking part in violence."

Likewise Bobby never thought I would be able to attend a European Final with my wife , son , daughter and son in law...we gave the two boys our tickets for the game and watched the match in a gay bar in Canal Street and had a great night despite the trouble after it...mind you we saw none of it and weren't aware of it until the next day.
