My ma' tells me that before I was old enough to go to school I once shouted up to her, as usual, for a piece 'n' jam or lemon curd. She threw it down to me wrapped up in the usual bread wrapper. As I was opening it I asked her what was on it. Being a bit busy with housework she answered "Oh, tripe and onions!" I threw it away and bawled up"Bit, ah don't like tripe an' onions!"
