The first team I ever saw. My father went to see Clyde and took me and my brother to Shawfield. I still remember Tommy McCulloch the goalie and Davie White, who went on to become Rangers manager.

Tommy McCulloch was a product of Bridgeton Waverley Juniors Peter.

Haw Wull see if he has any photos of him in goal for Bridgeton Waverley as I am trying to build a feature on their history...strange how Derek Atkins played in goals for Bridgeton Waverley Amateurs and eventually became the Clyde goalie as well. ;D

Only the second game I ever went to was Clyde v. Rangers. My old man was a Clyde supporter. Looking back in my " Rangers Football Companion" it must have been February 8th, 1967 (just a week after THAT game against Berwick Rangers). The 'Gers won 5-1

I had a wee table fitba game when I was a wean and used to play it with my dad. I was always Rangers and he was always Clyde. Whenever he was about to shoot for goal he mentioned 'Harry Hood' who played for Clyde but when he mentioned Harry Haddock I thought he was at it. I do of course know now that that was a famous Clyde man's name. ;D

He was a proper gentleman and used to train my fitba team Bridgeton Waverley Amateurs when we first started up back in 1976

Clyde. Scottish Cup Winners 1954-55. Clyde beat Celtic in a Wednesday night replay after drawing on the Saturday when Archie Robertson scored in the last minute from a corner. Tommy Ring scored the winner in the replay. I was at the game and the weather was dreadful. Ixus55

I remember as a teenager I used to swap programmes with several boys and lassies in England on a regular basis and also club badges. One guy I knew from Bolton asked me to get a Clyde badge so I went over to the Shawfield Stadium and was ushered into the manager's office to purchase my Clyde badge and I was met by Archie Robertson who took great interest in why I was buying a Clyde badge and programmes seeing as I was a Gers fan. He was a really nice guy and gabbed away with me for about half an hour re football...a proper gentleman.

I worked with Sandra at Stephens & Carter in Fullerton Avenue. I also went to night classes with Peter when I too lived in Cumbernauld.
Sandra went to America to live, but that was a long time ago.

yes, a sad story about Peter and Sandra, Peter was my da's cousin but he was more like my cousin as thats what I always called him, his father was my da's uncle but same thing I always called him uncle Wullie,he was always in my ma and da's house, I used to visit Peter and Sandra when they had their first house in Corbett street in Tollcross, but they divorced and went there seperate ways, sad as they were a real nice couple, the last I heard of Peter he was working on the oil rigs and has married again and got three kids.

I just picked this up as I was passing through Tollcross on a bus into town and remembered an old friend Peter Kennedy who lived in Corbett Street. I am also a Clyde fan. Anyone in touch with Peter or his pal Jimmy Keegan?
