How many of you ever took the dare and walked across the Ledge at the bottom of Whitby Street across the railway station into Helenvale Flats.

As you can see from this picture it was a bit of a drop onto the old railway line below...we used to run across it when it was covered in snow and one of my mates used to cross it on a bike at the max it was about 20 inches in width.

Yes it was Peter done in a state of 'bevvyness' by me and my big mate Joe McClory ;D And you will see that we have pledged our love of Maire Morgan the female played by the actress Gilly Coman in the Alan Bleasdale TV series at the time 'Scully'... ;D

Jeez, you've let the cat out the bag now Tam. I remember the people in Malcolm St shoutin their orders fae the onlookin windaes. (lol) I ripped my arse open scurryin down a corrugated moss covered asbestos roof after we were rumbled by the security guards. As we "dreeped" from roof into St Michaels school and legged it.

Remember Whitby St., station very well having lived in no. 9 for 6 years. Then the station was still in use and we used to get the steam train to somewhere. Can't think where though and hated the smell of the smoke but was great fun. Also we used to run along that bridge but were scared. Took ages to pluck up the courage to do it. Great memories of living in the area and you lot are making me so homesick reading all the stories. Been lovely to look at all the old photos too. Not many on the site the same age as me though which is a pity. Vicky

No calamity this one was taken just along from celtic park and runs under london rd . If you took a picture from Abercrombie st then that would have been the line that went from Brideton central, i found access to the tunnels the other day to this line and hope to to go back down with my camera this time
