Cul-de-sac off 1052 Gallowgate, and previously known as Guild's Court, and may have been named after James Guild, who is listed as an occupant of Camlachie in the Directory of Gentlemen's Seats and Villages in Scotland.
Alex Hodge, carting contractor, had stables sited here, along with the blacksmith Andrew Brodie.
In the 1970's Tyre Services had a small depot here.
Gills Court no longer exists as such, but forms the goods entrance to the nearby Cardowan Creameries.

My mother-in-law was born in gills court in 1925 (we called it hodgies) it's down as 190 gt eastern rd.

great to read this , it gives me a real marker as my house directly faced this, thats so terrific that your mammy was born there.I vaguely remember that circus folk were camped there once , early fifties ,and a snake went missing my big brother remembers it better than me.
