Originally ran from 792 Gallowgate to Stamford Street, though is now much altered, but it did form part of Great Eastern Old Road.
At number 130 stood the Camlachie Distillery, established in 1834 by Coventry & Belsland. It was built progressively between 1853 and 1863 for Bulloch & Co., later to become Bulloch, Lade & Co. Ltd.
The distillery originally drew its water from the Camlachie Burn, which flowed through it, but later became unsuitable.
Distillers Company took over the distillery and ceased distilling at Camlachie in September 1920, then becoming a maltings and bonded warehouse.
During WW2 Polish soldiers were garrisoned at the distillery.
Contained within the distillery was Burnpoint House, which was the residence of the distillery manager.
The distillery closed in March 1985 and was subsequently demolished.
The site is now covered by new housing.
At number 100 stood an acid works, founded in 1813 by Turnbull & Ramsay, who later became Turnbull Stuart & Co. Ltd. Production ceased in 1965 and the works were demolished two years later.
On the north side, just below Gallowgate stood a small function hall.

oh ah loved that wee hall, when ah wiz wee we used to climb up the wooden stairs and swing from the rail . and who remembers the lovely kept wee hoose over the road from it, we used to keek in the windows it was shining , and had brass plantpots and brass candlesticks on the dressing table , think it belonged to a work there, and by the way the Mens toilets are still there, all shut over but still there. Calamity, the wee hoose over the road was owned by the Forrester family,I went to camlachie primary with the son James.
