Arrol Place was a small three closed tenement building off London Road and was originally named Mordaunt Place but later renamed in honour of Sir William Arrol whose company backed onto the street and backcourts of Arrol Place.

I remember John McCabe lived there and i think the toby jug was on the corner. That is correct John he did stay there for a while before he married a lassie called Joyce who lived across the road at the corner of London Road and Mauldslie Street and they set up house in Sorby Street soon after.

I didn't realise it was that far back when John McCabe was killed. I see his sister Mary now and again.
Joyce Ingram was friends with my sisters especially my edest sister Marilyn who is sadly no longer with us, she was killed in a road accident in 1972.
As you know Charlie I lived opposite Arrol Place in Mauldslie St.
I am still trying to find where the photo of the Toby Jug that was in the family went to.
