Twice a year our linedancing class has a fundraising theme night and tonight it's for the jubilee ...she won't get the money we raise though it will go to a good cause . Adaline

Well I went on the Necropolis guided tour and it was brilliant. The guide was very informative and was able to put her information over in a really relaxed and entertaining manner. She was not relying on notes - she just really knew her stuff. She also had some photos relating to some of the people she was talking about. It was quite a hike and took 2 and 3/4 hours but was worth it. There should have been a charge for this in my opinion but I hope everyone did donate something at the end of the tour.
Sorry Charlie if this is off thread but she had to move the tour forward as it should have been Sunday but there would have been some difficulty with streets shut off etc on account of the jubilee. Is that ok ;D

Charlie I take it you're away doing something special for the Jubilee celebrations Adaline Yes Adaline you are correct I was away doing something but not Jubilee related. Myself and my two daughters, son, two grand-daughters, daughter in law and several other relatives spent the weekend in Oban. The purpose of the visit was to scatter my late wife Maureen's ashes in the gardens in McCaig's Tower which overlooks the town and bay. It was quite emotional when my two grand-daughters let go of their balloons in memory of their Granny. I sure Maureen would have been embarrassed at all the fuss we made over memory yesterday afternoon

Charlie, just signed in. Heavy heart for you but I am sure maureen would be loving the fact that her family hold her so dearly. Oban is a beautiful part of God's very special country. we spent not enough time there on our way to Iona as we were running out of time on our last visit. Take care my friend.' As for the Jubilee, have to confess of a very lazy Sunday. Came hame fae the kirk and switched on the TV and then did not venture out again. What a splendid display HRM and her family were magnificent, and to see the wee boats that were at Dunkirk, well, I cried. To know that there were three of the Dunkirk veterans on board was something else. Just wish we had been able to see them. Forgetting about Auld enemies and the rest. This lady has done a wonderful job and I think her grandson and his wife will carry on the traditions in a fine way. As I say, my post is totally non-political, just admiration for a woman who has done her job to the best of her ability. Well done Ma'am

Had a great day yesterday on the patio with a couple of gazebos overhead. Everyone had a great day.
Charlie, that was a lovely thing you and your family did in memory of Maureen.

Charlie I'm sorry I'm forever putting my foot in things, you would think I would learn to think before I say anything.
That was a lovely thing you and your family did for Maureen, hope you and your family find some peace by this.

Charlie that must have been a very emotional day for you and your family and I'm sure Maureen was looking down on you. It's some hike up to McCaig's Folly if you go the hard way and walk up all the stairs - I've done it and was puffed oot!

Charlie that was indeed a very nice and thoughtful thing that you and the family did. It would have been very emotional for you all especially when the grandweans let go the balloons.
It would also have been nice for you all to spend that time together and i am sure Maureen would be pleased about that.
