It is amazing what you find when you start to clear out boxes. I have came across numerous pages of Parkhead Streets Voting Register records from 1912 which I forgot I had in my collection. I remember being in the Mitchell one day and going through the records and went to copy one or two pages when I realised that a member of staff had forgotten to switch the machine back to payment mode. Naturally I brought it to their attendtion that the machine had run out of paper...after I had copied several dozen pages of the said registers.

Got me wondering as my family came from glamis rd lilybank parkhead the name is Leadbitter my family ended up in Haghill road across from the old clenny that used to be my playground the luckies i found if i kept them would be worth a lot of cash but like most young eastend boys i preferred to smash everything up.I was not in any gang we were neutral in haghill rd though i preferred the powery to win as i was a massive bluenose only a few tims drank in the Rangers pubs and got no hassle and this was when the troubles were in Ulster and money was collected for years in these pubs for loyalist paramilitarys massive respect for those celtic fans that drank in these boozers but in saying that these guys could fight for fun.
