Rangers have signed a Northern Irish Catholic...he is 17 year old Aaron McGregor and plays Gaelic football as a past-time. I wish the boy well and I hope that he is successful and known as a footballer player in this country and not for what he is...times they are a changing right enough. PS We also have a young goalkeeper who also happens to be a Catholic and comes from the Republic...I am sure the green Teeth Brigade will be happy and welcome him with open arms to when he turns out against the Shellick. Especially when he blesses himself and saves a penalty against 'the sons of Satan'.

Lifted this from the Belfast Telegraph report...
A 17-year-old Gaelic football-playing Catholic from Northern Ireland has signed professional soccer forms with Glasgow Rangers, for so long a bastion of Protestantism and still the favoured team of people of that religion in the province.
In the world of professional sport personal beliefs or backgrounds matter little – except perhaps to the die-hard fans. Talent is the common currency and young Aaron McGregor displays plenty of that. Let us hope that he fulfils his promise and becomes the soccer equivalent of our other bright young star, Rory McIlroy.
