You mentioned about the jam jar entrance. My Mum often told us you could get into the movies with a jam jar, allthough I think she meant you returned the jam jars to the shops and got money back on them, enough to get in to see a movie. My friends and I used to do the same with ginger bottles to get intae the dancing during the week ;D ;D

My wee mammy talked about getting into the pictures with a jam jar, a clean jam jar and you were allowed in, it is true.

Ma Ma wis born in 1912 and she used tae talk aboot gettin in fur jam jars - jist haunin them in at the door. Sometimes ye used tae get a comic thrown in as well! ;D

you used to get into the geggie at one time for one or two jeelie jars.
