The Parkhead Picture Palace aka the 3P's was located at 49 Tollcross Road facing the top end of Helenvale Street and opened as a 1250 seater cinema in July 1921 was destroyed by fire in August 1960. A rare line drawing of the 3P's... One of the few known photographs showing the 3P's albeit rather blurred. C.McDonald.Copyright©2010. Newspaper report from The Glasgow Eastern Standard... Expanding on Charlie's new's clipping,I found another report of the fire at Parkhead Pictures Palace, and though some may find the report interesting because of the extra detail and commentary. The fire happened in the early morning of Friday, August 19th, 1960. BTW just for the anoraks out there, the last features to be shown were the following : A Man Alone ( A 1955 western starring Ray Miland, Raymond Burr). City That Never Sleeps (1953 Chicago crime story, starring Gig Young, Mala Powers). Paul
