In Bridgeton Library they have an information board which states that the Bridgeton Cross Umbrella was also known as 'Buck Kelly's' Umbrella. Seems that Buck Kelly was a local tailor who would frequent most of the pubs at the Cross touting for business and always could be found under the Umbrella at certain times of the day.

The Umbrella was built in 1874 by George Smith & Co., at their Sun Foundry

Hi pitbull You have mentioned Scurdy a few times and I thought I would let you know I was in his class at school, then later on him and my husband played in the same football team.
I lived at 107 Main St for a short while.
