Given the rainy summer we have had, especially in Scotland, there's a lot of stuff in the news at the moment about local flooding. As far as I can remember there was one part of Parkhead that used to flood regularly, it was along the Old Shettleston Road at the junction where you walked up the road to Carntyne where the old railway junk yard was. The bit that flooded was along the Old Shettleston Road itself past where the Forge main office was and up to where East Wellington Street ran down the side of the Forge factory at the junction of ?? Street. Can't recall any other part of Parkhead being flooded on a regular basis

Thanks for that Irene, did Hart St run from Westmuir St. to the Old Shettleston Rd then? Seem to remember a door that went into the factory and if the flood water was too far up the Street the workers couldn't use that entrance to get into their work. Whit wan was Rigby Street then and the Backcauseway where was that? Suppose I should really look at a map ;D
