We wur always hingin aboot Helenvale st Flats, and there wiz always some bizzybody chasin us away. There wiz wan guy in particular who pissed us aff, and we nicked named him Thunderclap Newman (courtesy Rab Johnston), any way we knew which floor he lived on.
So when we seen him cummin, we'd heat up the lift floor button he'd press, wae a lighter till it wiz almost molten, then wait for him tae get in the lift and then ye'd hear the scream.
wiz wurth it

I'll hazard a guess on this one Gordie was it auld Duffy or a guy called Wilson. Aye they were good at chasing us who caused nobody any harm but they seemed to disappear when it was all the Rebels from the lights who were hanging about the flats.

Help a poor, ignorant foreigner oot, Charlie, who wur the Rebels frae the lights? The street gang from the immediate area of the east end and front of Celtic Park were known as the Parkhead Rebels, For years I thought it had something to do with Celtic and the Rebels who once held up a Post Office in Dublin...boy oh boy was I ever wrong there. It seems that the guy who named them was a mad Loyalist who later on got a prison sentence for Loyalist activities...
