Remember seeing Andy Cameron doing a kind of meal and cabaret thing here, round about the 'Ally's Tartan Army' time.
Got taken here as a youngster for a treat when it was Le Bon Appetit.
I know this is not strictly a pub, but I suppose it qualifies as a place of refreshment, repast and entertainment.

I have the utmost sympathy with you Alan as you were always the worker in the family whilst your younger brother tended to 'lord it up' with his 'bohemian' friends from Riverside Secondary School at the school proms listening to Primrose Moffat playing Quo Vadis on the piano.

Was it owned by Roberto Matteo and in Duke Street Peter ? If so they were clients of mine and I visited regularly. ! I was not called Primrose and did not play the Piano

I can thoroughly recommend 'lording it up'. Yes andymo I believe the Matteo family did own this fine establishment (Charlie makes mention of it in his book)
The school proms with my bohemian friends was made all the more sweet in the knowledge that Morto was back at home, decorating the house. I do hope he remembered to clean out the moat !!

Hi Morto, Yes they did.! I only really knew the two Brothers and the Mother. ! They went on to open " Sylvesters " in George Square I think..? Very trendy and the place to go at the time . I was at the opening. Big DO.. Never went socially as I was married with two children Bummer

I knew her to see and she was a looker.
Did not know she had died.
Sad.

When it was the Le Bon Appetit in the 1960's us guys from the Sally used to go in there and sit in the cafe bit sipping our coke and listening to the wee juke box that was up on the wall. I remember the two brothers, they used to take it in turns to keep an eye on us and tell us to go when we had sat there for ages and had no more money to buy more coke. We all stoped going when we were old enough to go into the Palace Bar at the corner of Duke Street and Salamanca Street.

I remember them . I worked in the hairdresser's next to the Granada and used to go and get our rolls there just across from the shop. The rolls were wonderful. One of the brother's used a machine that pressed down on the rolls when they were cooked. First time I had saw them being done like this.Small things like that stick in your mind. The brother's were very nice people i can't remember ever seeing the sister Linda that you speak about.
