Owned by Dorothy Forsyth, and naemd after General wolfe, who spent some time at the nearby Camlachie Mansion. It was contained within a tenement known as the Paterson Building, and it also housed Terry''s Tattoo shop.

I was looking through the posts and came accross this photo and it brought back memories of when Frank and I first started going out together this is where I would meet him outside this pub as coming from Greenfield he couldn't walk through Brigton or Barrowfield, he would get a bus from Shetttleston to here.

My parents lived just across from this pub; 4 Fielden street. the cafe next to the Tatoo shop i think it was caled vincie's cafe . When you went into the shop you could go up a few seps to the next level. this was our treet to go there and have Knicker bocker glories. i do't think that i spelt that right but it was a huge glass of ice cream with all the trimmings and a chololate flake at the top.i remember too my darling mum would get a provet cheque and at Easter time would buy the biggest Easter eggs this cafe had and work every week to pay the Provet cheque back to give Yvonne my darling sister and us this treat. Oh Ma we didn't need such a big egg. WE KNEW you loved us so much. XXX

Amethyst Yes I am the very same one and my grandparents were Charles and Kathleen though I never met my granda as he died before I was born. I do remember my Granny McDonald when I was sent up to visit and taken up to their house in Fielden Street by my Auntie Tooty...is that the right name. ;D If I remember correctly there was a big clan of the McDonald's living in the tenement. A small world indeed...

Pleasure to look again today and see the old pub The General Wolfe. Wee bit weepy today. Brings back my youth, especially the little cafe just beside it. My parents and family lived just across from it in Fielden street. Please contact me if you knew them. John McDonald and Madeleine Cowan known as big Jack and Madge. They lived at 4 Fielden street. I would be so very grateful for any news of them or my family that lived at 4 Fielden street. My email is the following ladybird@worldonlne.fr
