Over the past number of months I have read with increasing disgust on Keelies board and elsewhere, comments and arguments that have raged about Celtic winning the league, Rangers at Manchester, Phil and Tommy, referees etc. etc.
The boards are being corrupted by people voicing often bilious views, which I have now read enough of.
I will continue to enjoy and actively contribute to the more wholesome aspects of Keelies, but the type of comments I have been reading recently under the guise of football/religion I can do without.
Other boards exist whose whole 'raison d'etre' appears to be the promotion of this type of bile.
Perhaps it should be kept there and allow Keelies to continue to make its valuable contribution to the history and heritage of the east end.

You know something Mortimer when I was younger I always knew there was something I never liked about you 'nancy boys' from 1BG , 2BG and 3BG apart from the fact you had females in your class and that was you always had a way with words ...which seemed to escape us 'real men' in the lower classes of Rivvy. There again two of bubblegum and four of plasticne plus two of Woodburn House didn't actually improve our brain cells.
Anyway wee man I just wish you had been in the Clanny tonight at tea time with the 'Waverley boys' we had a great laugh at all these people who argue on here and elsewhere...at the end of the day we are east enders who will stand by our own even if we are 100% wrang. It is called identity and culture and a sense of belonging...don't come in amongst us and try to split us with that old time religion e as you may find that blood and family links will be stronger than you ever expected.

Charlie, I totally approve of identity and culture, but I just dont want to participate or contribute to such conversations on boards.
Nor split anyone from things they want to engage in. As for old time religion, never rated it.

it can be difficult to stop obnoxious views and personal attacks on members. Thats where admin come in and hopefully see it, amend it before the majority can read it, then warn the perpretators. Not always easy. However PWM437 this forum has a fitba & religious threads and peoples opinions can and should be made as long as decorum is observed. I know from experience the harm personal attacks on members can cause and have always refrained from doing so. Ignore these posts to let admin deal with is usually the best tack. Correct Brigton NOT ALWAYS EASY, unless you are on here 24/7. I feel that where you have fitba and religious threads you will always have difference of opinion, but personal attacks should not be tolerated. Being a mere wummin who knows absolutely Hee Haw about fitba, I am afraid i ignored this thread, but I can assure you I will be more vigilant in the future. I think enough has been said on this subject

It seems to me the fitba and religion forum brings out the very worst of the West of Scotland culture. I don't want to participate. i would rather use my energies on the more positive and wholesome aspects of the boards. Regards pwm437

The least bit of criticism of Rangers or Celtic and some people just go mental and star to show their true colours and as a life long devotee and follower of the Devil's Advocate I can assure you if they have bigoted and sectarian beliefs I'll drag it out of them... ;D
