Hi pwm437 I printed this off yesterday and took it with me last night to our wee night out, gave it to Neil's pal, who got about 6, but he is gonna find out the rest for me. Also gave it to caltondefender , who was at the night out also, and it was well passed around Eastmuir Masonic. Hope to get back to you with (I hope) all the answers.

Just noticed on Pitbull's post on Bridgeton Waverley, he refers to number 9 as The Cosy Corner.

You are correct on both accounts Jappo...I used to go on the Rangers Supporters bus that ran from the Nuek in the late 1960's & early 70's.
I always knew the Edmund as Hughes's...and remember being in there on my way back up the London Road after my young brothers funeral and traditional steak pie purvey in the Windsor at Bridgeton Cross.

Hi Charlie, the purvey for my sister Marilyns' funeral was in the Windsor with the traditional steak pie this was in 1972.
Hi Jappo thanks for the info so long ago but I remember now you have put them in their places.
Not seen you on the boards before welcome and hope we see more posts from you.

Haw Jappo was that the one that Joe McBride and some other Celtic player owned...did a lorry not crash into it or was that the bike shop at the other corner at Dunn Street.

Charlie that's the pub I think it was Bertie Auld that owned it with Joe McBride. It was the opposite corner at Dunn St that the lorry ran into.

jappo, I never heard that story but I remember the people who ran the pub was Davie and Margaret Lamont (think that's the way to spell their surname) this was the first pub I had a drink in. My 2 sisters drank in the sideline and I would go there to meet them before going to the barrowland, had been in a few times then got barred for being underage.

I was speaking to my sister today and she said that Margaret and Davie Lamont that ran the Sideline were man & wife they did have a son called Davie but she said that Janice wasn't the name of the daughter when she knew them, I can't remember the name she said maybe they had another daughter or are we speaking about different people, she said that Davie and Margaret went onto run the Grapes pub in Tollcross Rd after the Sideline.

After having the conversation about the Sideline my sister went on to speak about other pubs in the area, do any of you remember these?
First Half- corner of Fraser St and London Rd Sqare Ring- corner of Dunn St and London Rd Fergies- I think between Dunn St and Marquis St on the London Rd
She also spoke about a wee pub in Feilden St just up from the Sideline, I don't remember a pub being there, do any of you? if so do you remember the name of it?
