What a success! A fantastic setting on a wonderful night, I think they did Glasgow proud. There was one annoying thing for me, Hazel Irvine kept saying that Celtic Park was in Dalmarnock!!! I was brought up in Palace Street in the shadow of Celtic Park which was in Glasgow E1 - Parkhead. It is a long time since I lived there - 1958 to be precise but it has always been Parkhead to me. Was she getting mixed up with the Sir Chris Hoy stadium which may be classed as being in Dalmarnock? I dont know. Surely this St Andrews daughter and sports person should have known better, as a sports reporter she must have used Parkhead instead of Celtic Park? Ach well , maybe I am being a wee bit pedantic as it was a great night for Glasgow and a great advert for the city, it certainly made me proud.

Indeed it was a great success. Yes people can argue all they want about where Parkhead stops and ends and having outsiders using their preferred names does not help. In recent times it has been post codes being used to decide where it is...so going by that theory Celtic Park is in Bridgeton,
