William Hollins Ltd., occupied premises at 131 to 171 Boden Street, which was a factory originally built in 1872 for Renison, McNab & Co., power loom manufacturers. It was typical of the many mills in the east end of Glasgow and in particular the Bridgeton area.
In 1990 Ann Kerr wrote a play called 'The Last Threads' by Clydeside Press based on working life in Hollins' Mill. The workforce of the mill included a large female presence.
