Runs from 1046 Gallowgate to Janefield Street., and was previously known as East Hope Street.
At number 49 stands the Parkhead Factory, built in 1866 for Clark & Struthers, gingham manufacturers. Part of the works have now been demolished, but the remaining portion is occupied by Cardowan Creameries Ltd.
At number 60 stood the Camlachie Carters Mission Hall, which later became known as the George Lyon Memorial Hall.

Yes, the one and same. Must have a wee look on ebay. I think Charlie has been in contact with some descendents of George Lyon down in Australia. Can you confirm Charlie.

Have just seen this thread, and it was Cockenzie street. I knew Janey as she went to school with me and Randy went to school with my brother. The family were related to the belshaws
They were not in the house that long, and i am sure that there was a kid in the house at the time.
I remember at the time reading that it was caused by drying a pair of trousers at a fire. Such a terrible tragedy.
