Runs from 222 Westmuir Street to Tollcross Road, and named after the village of the same name in Fife.
It was previously known as Baird Street and was named after Robert Baird, an oil and colour merchant, who had offices in Glassford Street.
At number 153 stands Quarrybrae Primary School, built in 1904 to a design by McWhannell & Rogerson.
A clinic stands at number 155.
At number 62 a four year girl was badly injured when she fell twenty feet into the stairwell of the close on the 6th of October 1968.
A four year old girl was knocked down and killed in the street on the 11th of September 1964.

What was the shop next to the scrappy on the corner of Crail Street/Tollcross Road across from the tram/bus depot, was it a chemist shop Seem to remember it sold cameras and the windows were covered in wire grating, was it next to a ice cream-fish and chip shop.

Peggy, adaline and Bettyb, Dr McElhone also delivered me and most of my sisters, It was Dr Murrays surgery if I remember right. By the sounds of it he must have delivered half of Glasgow, and I was born in 1945.

Continued to have problems all my life and about 7 years ago I was diagnosed with Minears disease and it had taken all this time to surfice.

There was a nursery there too. My friend's mum was the matron. I remember going to 'help' so I could get a badge in the Guides. all the children had wee beds put out to have an afternoon nap, It was also in the days of Nursey nurses so they all wore a nurses uniform!

I don't see the point in leaving the grapes pub standing if it's no longer open, it has changed out of all recognition brian, the bus depot looks just the same as it did 50 odd years ago. the eastern corner of crail st hasn't changed much except the pharmacy wasn't there, 50 years ago, just to the left of the janitors house there was a gate for the boy's entrance, when you went to the end, of the school and turned right half-way up the brae on the left hand side was the dinner hall, it was seperate from the school, and if you turned left before the dinner hall, there was a big garage cum scrap yard there, there was also a big hill at the back of, the dinner halls and it went all the way along to the backs of caroline st I hope this, bit of info helps you out b.c.

"there was also a big hill at the back of the dinner halls and it went all the way along to the backs of caroline st" Was the hill thing in two parts, the first bit from the Crail St end was grass and further along it it it turned to clay. From some early maps that have been posted on here it looks like the remains of a quarry or clay pit, maybe that was why the school was called Quarrybrae and the street was called Quarryknowe St.
