Runs from 180 Stamford Street to Springfield Road, and is named after Jean Holmes, wife of Robert mcNair who owned lands in the area.
Part of the street was previously known as Porter Street, and may have been named after John Porter, a local brickmaker and tenement builder.
In 1964 the Corporation built 14 closes of new housing at the Camlachie end of the street, replacing the prefabs that had previously occupied the site. These houses were themselves demolished in the late 1990's. Some of the verandahs on numbers 149 and 153 afforded a good view of the playing pitch at Celtic Park for free, even if that wasn't your team. Indeed the Rangers player Ian Ferguson grew up at number 149.
At number 80 stood the Mountainblue Cooperage, later known as Camlachie Cooperage, who are now located at Cambuslang.
