Mainly from the Lilybank housing scheme and surrounding areas previously know as the Tombstone in reflection of the nearly Dalbeth graveyard.

Yer right enough Trotsky it is just that oor Pitbull has done that much duckin and diving in his time he is getting a wee bit confused wi' who he was trying to hide fae. Haw Pitbull you are talking about the Parkheid Termy and not the Parkheid Wee Men who hung aboot Connetta's Chippy at MacDuff Street and used tae chase ye. ;D

Pitbull, the brigton area was another world to us in our part of Parkhead which was down Westmuir Street and around Salamanca Street and back along to Duke Street. The local Gang was the Sally Boys but the Border were the biggest gang in Parkheed. They were drawn from all around Parkhead and their "territory" ran from Shettleston junction with Westmuir Street (beyond was Tiger land) up to Parkheed X back along Tollcross Rd down to Crail Street, down Duke Street to the railway bridge and half way down Sringfield Rd. Through various connections, if there was big territory fight going to take place, the main Border gang could rely on support from the Parkhead Wee Men from further down Tollcross Rd behind the bus depot, The Sally, and a gang from Carntyne called the Bounty? . The Borders main "enemies" were the Tigers and the Rebels from Springfield Rd. I don't think they had much to do with the other gangs beyond the Parkhead area like the Tongs and Spur or Baltic Fleet although there used to be a lot of fights with the new gangs from the schemes like the Bar-el (Barlanark) and gangs from Easterhouse who used to have to get on and off the buses that went to the schemes that started and finished in Parkhead. (here ends a short history of the Gangs of Parkheed 1960-70's) as I remember them

The wife had the grand=daughter in Parkhead Forge last Saturday and all she got out of her all day was 'Granny can we go and see Granda and the Wee-Men'...the wife was mystified why a two year old wean from Sandyhills would know anything about the 'Wee-Men'. Then the penny dropped she was on about the Bill and Ben the Flower Pot Men statues in the garden - thank God it wisnae they dafties fae Lilybank or Tollcross. Termy Ya Bass... ;D

naw Pitbull, when we sang it at Ibrox it belonged tay everybody, no some daft wee boys in short trousers running about Brigton X, it was what the big boys sang at the fiba tay show their support fur the Rangers, its like we all sang heart and hand and sword and shield but it didnay mean we wanted to stand on Derry's walls way a sword and shield, just like we didnay want tay be part of your wee gang ;D

If I had been around in 1688 I reckon I would've preferred a musket to a sword and shield Jackie...totally useless weapons in a siege situation.

Hey Pitbull, a thought the derry were all "wee men", the Parkheed boys fra the Sally and Border used to stand in the middle between 13 and 16 and look down at them over their heeds they were so vertically challenged ;D an when they tried tay start the singing they had wee squeeky voices, because their voices hudnay broken yet and we had to take over and lead the singing way our Parkheed manly voices so the rest of Ibrox could join in

Haw PitBull I think you are a wee bit 'oot' with your recollections of the Wee-Men...they were never gemme enough to drink at any of the pubs at the lights or Springy Road for that matter...as for our mutual friend Og did he not live out in Wee Men land facing the cemetery.
Tombstone Ya Bass.

Living in MacBeth Street I knew them all. Stuart Bell (Zeb) were married and later divorced and sadly Margaret died about three years ago. Tisey moved out to Livingstone or Bathgate along with Arab and Johnny Johnstone lives in Helenvale Flats.

oh bye the way lads young baltic fleet ruled forget the spur, the torch, the rebels, wee men, the tombstone, I remember the border with alfie allan at the helm came down the bottom of springfield rd to fight with us they were about 40 handed and all tooled up we were 60 handed and tooled up but in the end it came down to a square go, between the leader,s billy fauld,s and alfie allan now alfie and billy could go to town but billy fauld,s came out the winner and that was the end of that we never had any problem,s with the border after that. Alfie Allen, I remember him, he was the leader of the Border right enough, everybody knew him in Parkhead, used to remember seeing him walk up Westmuir St from Crail St up to Parkheed cross with some of the gang and stand at the Cross as if they owned the place, which in some ways a suppose they did

Hello patrick, remember the last time I saw him, I was out for a pint with my old man and we went into the Bowlers Rest along Tollcross Rd, I think he was working as a bouncer in the pub or friedly with the manager as, funny enough, Dee Sharpe and some of the Wee Men were in the pub as well and they were getting a bit noisey, Alfie just went over and had a wee word with them and they drank up and left. I heard recently from a reliable source that Alfie had/has some connection with what used to be Barnies down Westmuir street.

Patrick I will be heading up to Belvidere Bowling Club once I finish work today and will tell Spider you were asking for him...he is a committee member of the bowling club and now lives in Helenvale Street.
Yes you are correct Patrick all the pubs at the Rangers end of the ground were Rangers pubs in the days prior to Celtic Park being rebuilt as the only get 7,500 tickets for 'old firm' games thesedays they tend to just arrive in their coaches prior to the game or walk up the London Road from Bridgeton.
