Came across this on the internet. Passed by exhibition when it was in the Mitchell foyer back in February. I glanced at it and saw the cigarette card of Willie Angus VC on display and knew right away it was another classic exercise in 'the Celtic Way' of rewriting history so I gave it a miss. www.krakenopus.com/readingroom/opuses/celtic.php

Should not have gave it a miss Charlie as it was well worth a look Heard a while back about the collector who contributed the Celtic memorabilia to Opus was given a free book, rightly so in my opinion as it cost nearly 2 grand to buy, oor pal Andy (the one wae the horse running across my screen) knows the collector well and im sure he could confirm if its true, (unless hes fell oot wae him again)

He has posted many photos of his collection on the site. Don't think it can be the same guy calton defender is friends with though cos I've never seen him post a bad word about Neil Lennon

Sure is the same guy GG and the Calton Defender knows him well, i would not expect the CD to write complimentary words about Neil Lennon or Celtic and i would be shocked if he did, i certainly wont be writing anything complimentary about Rangers or their players, its just the way we are and long may it continue

Andy as I have told you before you do not need to explain yourself to anyone on this board as I am well aware of your commitment to numerous charitable groups in the east end irrespective of their religious background or origins. After you left today I had a good lengthy conversation with Jamie on the phone and all I can say is I am / We are a very lucky board to have two guys who have as much wealth of Old Firm ephemera as you two guys have in your collections which you are both willing to share with us. I know that other boards will be so envious of the Keelies Board when we eventually get down to displaying some items from both of your collections...

Willie Maley , Jimmy McGrory and Jock Stein all gentlemen of the highest order and then we have Neil Lennon... And your point is caller??? When you are the manager of a football club whether it is the Old Firm or the local Junior, local amateur team you should lead by example and in such a way that your personal actions does not reflect back on the reputation of the club...and I am afraid Lennon's attitude does not sit well with other manager's and the people who run football. I ran an amateur football team for almost twenty five years Caterina and during that time I tried 110% to ensure our name was respected in football circles despite coming up against bent officials and bigots who pre-judged anything with the prefix Bridgeton as an off-shoot of the Shankill Butchers. Despite all the difficulties we managed to overcome the majority of obstacles which were put in front of us over a period of 25 years. It could have been quite easy for me to unleash my players who were mainly young adults from the east end and suffer the consequences of being barred and expelled from amateur football. I could write a book about the rights and wrongs of amateur football and the tricks that some corrupt officials got up to all in the name of the 'beautiful game'. We were discriminated against because of our name and what people perceived it to be ...i.e. Bridgeton Waverley aka Brigton Derry , because of our religion whereby the opposition thought we were all in the same Lodge , and generally we were seen as a shower of unemployed layabouts and ruffians from the east end. How I used to take great personal pleasure in working it right into all those bassas and I did not need the assistance of a QC to make excuses for me , my club or my players or being O'ffended. Our official motto was Magni Nominis Umbra - the shadow of a might name but because of our detractors , unofficially it became 'No Surrender'...which was proudly adhered to by all the Catholics , Protestants , Sikhs and coloured boys who ever pulled on our jersey. If you believe for one minute that Lennon is in the same mould as the three manager's I mentioned above then I fear for your support and your club and you will reap what you sow in future. And when the keech hits the fan or as when the fan hit the keech as happened at Tynecastle a few weeks ago please do not start feeling sorry Lennon as the vicTIM yet again as it doesn't wash with the majority of fitba fans in Scotland anymore. Real men and born leaders lead by example...

Good post caltondefender but unable to understand why/how Neil Lennon has let himself down this season caterina his behavior on the touchline & on the field of play,i no he is a passionate guy & adores the team,i personally think you will see a change in him next season, when you look at some of the faces of managers in the dug out it would put you of going to the fitba they should have a look at Lennon to see how he gets the support rite behind his team... feck sake Andy well seeing you went to Bernie...or have you just discovered you are dyslexic at 62. ;D

Well here is one example of his behaviour,he is all of sixty yards away and on the wrong side of play to see this incident, but it doesn't stop him acting like a common ned. Sure any manager on seeing one of their players go down would feel they have a "shout" but would probably wait until they see it better on T.V. But there's only one manager in Scotland would react like this, and notice that he just hasn't only left the "technical area" but he is yards on the field of play, which should have warranted his being reported by the fourth official, but was it,of course not, same at Tynecastle when the Hearts fan ran on to the park Lennon was standing on the touchline of the field of play, not in the technical area. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPVzU1FGj4E

paddygategirl.... i met neil lennon outside parkhead on 2 occassions (1)with a mate( who has the best gers pub anywere)who was doing a charity nite to raise funds to buy electric wheelchairs, neil lennon was approached & we spoke away to him & my mate explained wot he was doing, neil went into the ground returned about 10mins later with every 1st tean players top to raffle,he was invited to visit the pub anytime he wanted, thats the character of the guy, (2)about 1yr later i was outside the stadium waiting to pick up tops from TB for another charity nite i was having for kids with special needs neil lennon came & spoke to me told him wot i was doing again he donated tops for the auction, dropped me of at the louden tavern gave me £20 for a beer, turned up on the nite unexpected did the raffle & gave a large donation for the cause, on the both charity nites all the money went to rc,children, but this season he has let himself down big time,no person should go thru the ordeal he has had to suffer.....end of story.... I've always known Neil Lennon was a good guy ;D Don't agree with you though about him letting himself down this season though Andy as I have told you before you do not need to explain yourself to anyone on this board .. You're right Charlie, Andy aka thecaltondefender doesn't have to explain himself to anyone on this board or anywhere else for that matter, however just reading the last post gives me a whole different impression of him. My boyfriend, who I've said before is like a fenian equivalent of yourself, collects a lot for charity and like Andy he obtains both Celtic and Rangers tops and footballs for raffles, he has even been known to go to charity nights in the Calvey Club I do believe I'm softening towards the caltondefender, even him calling me paddygategirl hasn't annoyed me as much. Must be our mutual love of Neil Lennon Now I just have to work on you............

Can always rely on you Charlie to somehow make your point by offending the recipient Caltondefender, your post is appreciated and, like my sister, I would say that it showed me a different side. Might let you buy me a drink next time in the bowling club
