I have just found out that the Transport Museum have introduced a wee Glesga No.9 Tramcar with the signs advertising Damuir West and Auchenshuggle. It proved to be so popular that it sold out in days and won't be back in stock for several months.

Aye, ah think ye hid tae be dedicated tae be a clippie in thae days. When we lived in Ruchazie, in the 50's, ma eldest sister got a job oan the trams. Ah remember she got her machine hame wi her an rolls o - probably dummy - tickets tae practise wi. But the walk frae Ruchazie tae Riddrie depot oan a cauld winter's mornin at 5 o'clock, or whitever it wis, didnae appeal tae her. - she jacked it in efter a coupla months.

Lucky fur me there wisnae much traffic aboot in thae days, if it hid been nooadays, ah wid've been a pancake. Ma sister got hell affy ma Ma fur no lookin efter me when ah grassed her up. Well, she widnae buy me a bar o chocolate tae help me tae forget ma trauma. ;D

Charlie
Did you see BBC Four earlier this week, Dec 6th ? There was an hour long programme on the trams in the UK. Glasgow did feature but not as much as I would have liked, however, the No 9 to Bridgeton and again to Partick did feature and Bridgeton Cross did too for a small clip for the last tram
