The whole of Bridgeton Cross is dug up at present and they are currently removing the pavement underneath the Toll. They have also put fencing around the Olympia so things are on the move so to speak.

I pass it regularly an huv noticed the work bein carried oot bit never gave it much thought - whit is it they are actually doin there

They are going to floodlight the Toll and surrounding buildings and relay all the pavements including part of Landressy Street and James Street. The Olympia is going to be turned into a Sports Museum and community facility.

Thats a great photo Tam. I remember ma mammy used to get her lino from Millers, way back in the 50's and 60's nobody had fitted carpets then, it was a square carpet in the middle and lino all the way round the sides. Here is a copy of the original photo that Tam gave me yonks ago and I have just rediscovered it... ;D

I have no idea Lynn, me I'd say sometime in the 50's by the fashions. re Logies all the lighter shade of the tenement, was the upstairs of Logies. the Pend where we lived was right opposite. smashing photie eh - lovely and sharp
