On entering the cemetery you will be see The Great War Cross aka " The Cross of Sacrifice" which was designed by Sir Reginald Bloomfield, RA.
The Cross of Sacrifice is a standard design of a hexagonal base, topped by three plinths, adorned by an unsheathed warriors sword made of bronze and is prevalent in all British and Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetries around the world. The biblical phrase "Their Name Liveth For Evermore" (Ecclesiasticus 44.14, KJV) found on the Stones of Remembrance in larger war graves was added at the suggestion Rudyard Kipling as also was the phrase "Known unto God" for the gravestones of unidentified servicemen. He also chose the inscription "The Glorious Dead" on the Cenotaph, Whitehall, London.
Bloomfield was responsible for designing the Menin Gtae in Ypres, in Belgium, which features the names of 56,000 names of British soldiers 'who have no known graves'. Every night at 8 pm a guard of honour made up up men from the local fire brigade play the 'Last Post' in their memory.
