Completed in 1908 to a design by John Keppie,of the practice Honeyman, Keppie & Mackintosh. It is believed Charles Rennie Mackintosh may have contributed to the design.
More info will follow on the above photograph which shows the ornate sculpture work at roof level above the door.

anniebums here. I remember every Glesga fair friday you couldn't get near the bank for us savers withdrawing our hard earned money for oor holidays! I was a member of the bank since I was a wean.

I haven't got a bankbook from there but I know I still have 10 bob in that bank from at least 1957 ;D
